- ➤ Ohio increased its minimum wage to $11 an hour on Jan. 1. Companies with annual receipts over $405,999 raised non-tipped wages by 30 cents, while tipped employees now earn $5.50 and smaller businesses continue paying $7.25. Hometown Stations
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The new Ohio law took effect Jan. 1, requiring schools statewide to restrict cell phone use during the school day and to maintain Narcan on campus under established guidelines. Schools will now need to notify parents if Narcan is administered. Hometown Stations
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ OSHP reminds drivers to winterize vehicles and pack a safety kit (including an ice scraper, blankets, and first aid supplies) to stay safe on icy roads. This advisory follows a steep rise in weather-related crashes and urges drivers to slow down and allow extra travel time. WFIN
