  • Blanchard Valley Center and the Hancock County Board of Developmental Disabilities have bought a 25x14 trailer with a universal changing table to provide dignified restroom access for people with disabilities at local events (Flag City BalloonFest and the Hancock County Fair); the $32,799 trailer was funded by local grants.  WFIN

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library launches its America 250 celebration with monthly themes on creativity and ingenuity in Ohio this February. Visitors can explore a browsing wall featuring books & movies that highlight the state’s industrial impact and historical innovation.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Findlay's College of Education will host Ohio Teacher of the Year Christopher Monsour on Monday, Feb. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Alumni Memorial Union North Multipurpose Room; the free + open event will give aspiring educators a chance to learn from his 26 years of experience.  University of Findlay
  • The LBHS Game Day Cheer Squad has qualified for the OASSA Cheer State Competition set for Feb. 21 at Big Walnut High School and will perform as local fans cheer them on while they represent Liberty-Benton.  WFIN
  • University of Findlay leaders said that their Together We Will campaign reached $82,720,880, going past its $75 million goal six months early + they plan to raise an extra $1,000,000 for the Findlay Fund before July 31 to help pay for scholarships and build campus facilities.  University of Findlay
