- ➤ Three area teachers were recognized at the Golden Apple Awards by Findlay Rotary on Wednesday at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts. Elementary-level winner Becky Sampson, middle school winner Katie Weaver, and high school winner Laura Rettig each received a $2,500 cash prize while other finalists got $250. WFIN

- ➤ The State Fire Marshal announced nearly $8 million in grants for 190 small-county volunteer fire departments to purchase equipment and upgrade facilities.
