BUSINESS NEWS

  • Ohio Auctioneers Association President Darby Walton spoke with Ohio Ag Net’s Joel Penhorwood at the 2025 Ohio Beef Expo on March 20 to discuss the auction industry amid shifting equipment, land and livestock prices. Walton explained that the interview focused on market challenges that may shape future auctions—offering key insights for buyers and sellers.  WFIN

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Gliding Stars of Findlay’s 22nd ice show will take place on March 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cube on North Main Street — with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. — and will feature rock music from the 1960s through the 2000s as 47 skaters and nearly 70 volunteers prepare through weekly practices since September.  WFIN
  • The Hancock Historical Museum will host a Victorian tea party for children ages 5-12 with an accompanying adult from 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29. Guests will learn about Beatrix Potter and proper tea etiquette while enjoying crafts, refreshments, and themed gifts sponsored by the Zonta Club of Findlay, and reservations with payment must be made by March 26.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Area children in grades 5 to 8 are invited to join a six-week STEAM Club after-school program at University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum that will run on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. from March 25 to April 29 + registration is required by March 24 at a cost of $175 per student.  WFIN
  • Area children in grades 5 to 8 are invited to join a six-week afterschool STEAM Club at the Mazza Museum that will cover science, technology, engineering, arts, and math topics led by field experts. Sessions will run each Tuesday (6 to 7:30 p.m.) at the Joseph and Judith Conda STEAM Education Center on the UF campus from March 25 to April 29 at a cost of ($175 per student), and students who attend all sessions will earn a lab coat and be invited to a Lab Coat Ceremony with registration ending March 24.  WFIN
  • University of Findlay is hosting its fifth annual Waste to Energy workshop for Northwest Ohio middle and high school teachers on May 19. The one-day event offers a stipend + teaching resources and will provide continuing education credit as educators learn to create biodiesel from soybeans and explore how waste oil can boost the local economy.  University of Findlay

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Ohio Department of Transportation said that State Route 37—between SR 15 and CR 180—will close on March 31 for about 45 days to widen the roadway, add rumble strips and replace guardrails. Drivers will use a detour from SR 15 to U.S. 68 to I-75 to SR 12 before returning to SR 37.  WFIN
