- ➤ The first annual Hancock County Food Truck Festival will be held tomorrow in the parking lot of Gabes on Tiffin Avenue and will run from 11 a.m. — 7 p.m. Food trucks will donate proceeds to Fort Findlay FOP’s Cops and Kids program. WFIN
- ➤ Flag City Honor Flight will fly Veterans to Washington DC on four trips in 2025—April 1st, June 3rd, September 9th, and October 14th—to help them see memorials honoring their service; the first flight will include a Welcome Home celebration at 7 p.m. at Grand Aire Hangar on W. Airport Service Road in Swanton and will give priority to terminally ill Veterans followed by others who served from World War II to the Vietnam War. WFIN

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, March 24th at 6:35 p.m., Fostoria police responded to reports of shots fired on the 200 block of Elwood Ave where a house had bullet holes; they arrested 18-year-old Caiden Essex for firing his gun and issued a felony warrant for 18-year-old Findlay man Javier A. Hernandez—he is on the run and is considered armed and dangerous after a fight over a stolen bike. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation awarded the first 2025 Gregory James Shrader Memorial Scholarships to Brian Guthrie, Claire Kemmere and Samuel Dolan as Jeff, Elsa and Jon Shrader established the award (to honor Greg Shrader and support Findlay High School swimmers in pursuing their education). - ➤ The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library added Wonderbooks to its collection—these are print books with built-in audio players featuring Read-Along, Learning, and Sing-Along modes that help children improve their reading skills. The library plans to offer these innovative books to support independent and interactive learning. WFIN

- ➤ Findlay will open its Green Waste Site at 330 North Cory Street (behind the Public Works Department near the railroad tracks) on Tuesday, April 1 for city residents to dispose of yard waste at no charge. The site will operate Tuesday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. WFIN

- ➤ BVHS oncology services earned accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, which shows the hospital’s dedication to providing high-quality care locally— it will face a review every three years to keep its standards high. WFIN
