COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Findlay and Hancock County (the local nonprofit) launched its biggest building year yet by starting to raise walls for homes 62, 63, and 64, marking the first time three families built simultaneously. The project covers three of six homes planned this year (serving as the third, fourth, and fifth homes in the Krystal Ridge Addition to be completed by the end of 2027) and will involve 225 volunteers over the next 10 weeks. - ➤ Children’s Mentoring Connection will hold its 42nd Annual Bowling For Kids fundraiser (April 5 and 6) to support youth mentoring programs in the community and at school. Executive Director Stacy Shaw said registration is available by calling (419-424-9752). WFIN

- ➤ The Mazza Museum will host a free Funday Sunday event on April 6 with a Farmyard Fables theme featuring games, crafts, and live animals. Registration (via the museum’s website) is required and the event will run from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (sponsored by Hancock Federal Credit Union). WFIN
- ➤ The Hancock Historical Museum will host a Brown Bag Lecture titled 'Unnatural Ohio: A History of Buckeye Cryptids Legends & Other Mysteries' at 12 p.m. Thursday, April 3 (at 422 West Sandusky Street). Authors Kristina Smith and Kevin Moore will present a 45-minute to one-hour talk where museum members attend free and non-members pay $3 while guests bring their own lunch. WFIN
- ➤ International Night at the University of Findlay is scheduled for April 10th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Koehler Center Sports Complex, where creative cultural exhibits—performances and food from India, Ghana, Ohio, and Japan will be available for the public. WFIN

- ➤ Findlay City Schools Alumni Association is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumni Award—honoring FHS graduates who have made significant contributions since graduating. - ➤ OCJS announced yesterday that it awarded over $6 million from the Violence Against Women Act to help groups work to stop violence against women—93 grants went to agencies in 46 counties to support victim services and law enforcement efforts. Hometown Stations

- ➤ The FDA announced a voluntary recall of Trader Joe’s Hot Honey Mustard Dressing sold in Ohio because the label did not list allergens such as peanuts, soy, sesame, and wheat. Consumers are advised to discard the product or return it to Trader Joe’s for a refund (the use-by date is May 27). NBC4
- ➤ The Hancock County Parkinson’s Network is inviting local individuals, nonprofits, and agencies to apply for grants of up to $5,000 as part of a $10,000 funding cycle that supports projects for those affected by Parkinson’s disease. Applications must be submitted online by June 1 and award decisions will be announced by July 31 — recipients must use the funds within a year and report on project results. WFIN
