- ➤ Flag City Honor Flight is preparing for its 34th mission on Tuesday, Apr. 14 when 82 veterans will depart from Toledo Express Airport for a day trip to Washington, D.C. — A Welcome Home celebration will take place at 7:00 p.m. at 11777 W. Airport Service Rd in Swanton. WFIN
- ➤ The United Way invites local organizations to submit project ideas for Spring Days of Caring scheduled for May 5-8 — matching hundreds of volunteers with essential community projects. WFIN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ODOT District 1 converted an intersection on March 9 in Sherwood and will convert eight intersections on April 6 and May 4 in Defiance, Wyandot, Hancock, Paulding and Putnam counties to improve safety where crash data revealed stop or yield failures — flashing signs and boards will remind drivers. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Findlay Trojan Sports invites residents to nominate former Trojan athletes (via an online form) for sharing athletic honors and milestones. This initiative celebrates alumni achievements as they excel beyond high school. WFIN
- ➤ The Blanchard Valley Center hosted its 2026 Celebrity Basketball Game where the Blue Team won 27-16 against the Gray Team despite rain as the community gathered for DD Awareness Month. A video will be available soon. WFIN
