COMMUNITY NEWS

  • There are 81 pinwheels on display around the Hancock County Courthouse to represent children adjudicated as abused, neglected or dependent in 2024 for Child Abuse Prevention Month—Hancock County Job and Family Services, CASA of Hancock County Ohio and the Kindness Klub youth helped organize the display. They will remain on view through April—reminding the community of the ongoing need to address child abuse.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Findlay-Hancock County Public Library announced that Gabriella Berger won the Youth Library Card Design Contest after 50 youth submitted designs and 239 community members voted. The new youth cards will be available in early June for patrons under 18 and current cardholders can update their cards for a $1 fee.  WFIN
  • The University of Findlay’s equine marketing class will host the 20th Annual Spring Horse Sale on April 26 at Western Farm’s Dale Wilkinson Arena south of Findlay — riding demonstrations begin at 10 a.m. and the sale starts at noon with bidding available in-person and online.  WFIN

  • Tax experts warn Findlay residents to file their tax return and pay at least 90% by April 15 or face steep penalties for failure to file, pay, or underpay. They add that an extension only gives extra time to file—delaying payment risks daily compounding fees—so it is best to act quickly.  NBC4
