BUSINESS NEWS

  • Whirlpool Corporation will invest over $60M in a new production facility in Perrysburg that will use advanced technology & add up to 150 local jobs to boost its U.S. supply chain.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Area students in grades five to eight will join the Mazza Museum Summer STEAM Camp, themed 'Intergalactic Problem Solvers,' on June 8 to 12 at the University campus (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) in cooperation with Toledo's Imagination Station; registration is $200 per child including materials and a camp shirt.  WFIN
  • The City of Findlay invites local youth in elementary, middle, and high school to create banners that capture American patriotism in celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary—22 winning designs will be digitally adapted for display downtown.  WFIN
  • The University of Findlay Visual Art Department presents its 2026 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition in the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery until April 23. A public reception (7 to 8:30 p.m.) is set for Thursday, April 16 to honor the featured student work.  University of Findlay

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials say several road projects are underway across Findlay. Multiple streets are partially closed for sewer installation, curb replacement, and waterline work starting April 13 until further notice—check local signs for updates.  WFIN
  • Local agencies, including the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and Findlay Police Department, are honoring telecommunicators during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week from April 12–18. Sheriff Michael Cortez praised their calm response and essential role in guiding emergency teams and callers.  WFIN
  • Officer Andrew Hadley, 24, was sworn in by Mayor Muryn as he joins the Patrol Division; he earned his degree at Bowling Green State University and previously served two and a half years with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office & lives near Ada with his wife and daughter.  WFIN

HEALTH NEWS

  • The University of Findlay and local partners invite families to Healthy Kids Day at the Koehler Center on April 17, 2026 (5 to 8 p.m.). Hosted by the YMCA with support from Blanchard Valley Health System and Hancock Public Health, the free event will offer interactive activities that promote healthy habits.  University of Findlay
  • Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has reported a rise in SIDS cases and advises parents to practice safe sleep methods. Its Weekend Doctor Column by pediatric hospitalist Dr. Susan Grace explains risk factors and offers clear guidance to help keep infants safe.  WFIN
