COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Hancock County Veterans Service Office invites community members to join a Coffee Social at Coffee Amici on April 16th from 4 to 6 p.m. to meet local veterans and ask questions, and more social events (Brewery Social on June 23rd, Bourbon Social on July 25th, another Coffee Social on October 1st, and Wine Social on October 14th) will be held throughout the year.  WFIN

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Sheetz will host a hiring event today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 5900 Township Road 230 in Findlay to recruit CDL-A truck drivers who are at least 23 with two years of experience and 130,000 miles driven. Applicants may attend without an online application to have on-the-spot interviews and learn about a full benefits package (including medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid leave, and a 401(k)).  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and Findlay Police Department are marking National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week from April 13—19 to honor dispatchers who help first responders get the information needed during emergencies. Sergeant Mark Price urged anyone who knows a dispatcher to thank them for their essential work.  WFIN
  • Hancock County ADAMHS received $25,036 from the Recovery Housing Program to help up to 12 people in early recovery pay rent & utilities. The grant is part of a $1.2 million award given to 11 ADAMHS boards to support safe and stable housing for recovering Ohioans.  WFIN
  • State Rep. Jim Hoops — from Fulton, Henry and Williams counties — declared his candidacy for the Ohio Senate First District seat in the 2026 election to replace term-limited Senator Robert McColley. He said he will run on a platform of conservative values — including defending the unborn and second amendment rights — in northwest Ohio.  WFIN
