- ➤ Hancock County Humane Society is overwhelmed with full kennels — its staff calls on residents to adopt or share this urgent appeal as dogs wait for forever homes. WFIN
- ➤ The City of Findlay will offer a bulk trash drop-off for residents from Saturday, April 18 through Saturday, April 25. Service hours are Monday-Friday (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) and Saturday (8:00 a.m. to noon) at the Public Works Department (330 North Cory Street) where hazardous materials are not accepted. WFIN
- ➤ Fostering Hancock County will host Open Hearts, Open Homes at Hilton Garden Inn on April 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to help current and prospective foster families connect with local resources (including advocates and former foster youth) amid a local shortage. WFIN

- ➤ The University of Findlay announced winners of its annual Innovation Competition yesterday. The contest honored students in two categories—Innovative Idea and Student in Business—with awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 plus additional funds for continued support. University of Findlay
- ➤ Ohio is launching a new attendance tool to track school truancy; Governor Mike DeWine will soon announce a statewide dashboard (updating weekly with absenteeism data by district, school, and grade level) to help get kids back in class. WFIN
- ➤ Justin Reed, a psychology major at the University of Findlay, has been named a Barry Goldwater Scholar for his neuroscience research in Alzheimer’s. He is one of 454 recipients chosen from over 5,000 candidates, marking a first for his university. WFIN
