- ➤ United Way of Hancock County is hosting its annual Downtown Chocolate Tour on Saturday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. where visitors can stop at 31 businesses including Findlay Brewing Co. — tickets cost $25 and sales are capped at 300 to support the Vulnerable Children Initiative. WFIN
- ➤ The City of Findlay will offer a bulk trash drop off from April 19 to April 26 at the Public Works Department, 330 N. Cory St., sponsored by The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation + residents can drop off unwanted debris during scheduled hours while hazardous materials, concrete, appliances, electronics and commercial tires will not be accepted. Proof of residency or ID will be required. WFIN

- ➤ Ohio Corn Checkoff Board Member Nate Bair visited Taiwan (and South Korea) to boost demand for Ohio-grown corn and help build a stronger future for local farmers. WFIN

- ➤ Cory-Rawson Elementary and High Schools were named Purple Star Schools by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce—a designation that shows the schools’ strong commitment to military students and families as set by strict state criteria. Superintendent Jay Clark said military resource liaisons and a dedicated webpage are available to assist current and future military-involved students. WFIN

- ➤ Since April 9, the Findlay Police Department has charged for body-worn and in-car camera footage requests to cover time spent on reviewing and editing, with fees based on 1.5 times the footage length and capped at $750—exemptions apply for crime victims, their families, legal representatives and official agencies. Requests must be submitted in writing and a cost estimate is provided within five business days before work begins. WFIN
- ➤ The Hancock County Courthouse will be illuminated on Friday, April 18th as part of the Two Lights for Tomorrow initiative to mark the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s midnight ride — announced by the Hancock County Commissioners. The courthouse will light at dusk and remain on through the night as the first event in local semiquincentennial celebrations. WFIN
