Hartley, a 44-year-old from Findlay with two active arrest warrants, ran from deputies during a criminal investigation near 10456 US 224 in Liberty Township Thursday morning—he was later found hiding in a trash dumpster, taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for possible heat exhaustion, and now faces charges for obstructing official business to avoid 19 days in jail. - ➤ Officials from the Hancock County Board of Elections said the Secretary of State is investigating a new tablet-style poll book purchased by a board in a county east of Columbus because it may not meet Ohio's election security standards. - ➤ On April 9, the House approved a new state budget that cut H2Ohio funding for the agriculture department from $60.6 million to $33.7 million for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 — a change that reduces support for the water quality program joined by over 3,200 farmers since 2019.
