COMMUNITY NEWS

  • GoBus now connects Findlay to Ohio cities with six daily trips offered year-round from the University of Findlay stop near the Mazza Museum. The schedule includes departures at 8:44 a.m. for Toledo and 8:22 a.m. for Springfield.  WFIN
  • Community Foundation President Brian Treece discussed the 2025-26 Community Conversations results with WFIN’s Chris Oaks in Findlay, highlighting votes for quality of life, safety, health, housing stability and family support. The survey points to priorities for future improvements + a focus on community well-being + ongoing dialogue.  WFIN

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Hancock County Naturalists will meet free at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve (1400 Oakwood Ave.) in Findlay for a presentation, 'Beavers, Squirrels and Mice, Oh My,' led by Michelle Rumschlag; the event includes hands-on displays for those 15 and older.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Findlay will host dual commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 2 at Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex, with formal processions starting at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.; a Baccalaureate Service will also take place at Winebrenner on May 1.  University of Findlay

HEALTH NEWS

  • Blanchard Valley Hospital has been recognized by Healthgrades as Ohio's top hospital for surgical care for 2026 based on clinical outcomes, patient safety and patient experience, a recognition its leadership says reflects the skilled surgical team + advanced services available close to home.  WFIN
  • The Hancock County Sheriff's Office will host the final event in its Choices & Challenges Community Wellness Series at Cory-Rawson High School on Wednesday, May 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Community members including parents and educators are invited to learn about youth risk behaviors.  WFIN
