  • Crossroads Crisis Center opened a Safe Exchange office in Lima to help parents transfer their children in a neutral space when exchanges may be tense—people can call 419-228-4357 to speak with a staff member and arrange a safe handoff.  Hometown Stations

CULTURE NEWS

  • The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum will host Emmy Award-winning Marc Brown, creator of Arthur, on Saturday, May 10 at 7 p.m. in the TLB auditorium of the Winebrenner Building & he will share his creative journey and process, with a book sale and autograph session available at a 15% discount, while residents must register by May 8.  WFIN
  • The Hancock Historical Museum is hosting a Brown Bag Lecture on May 1 at 12 p.m. featuring Dwayne Beggs, Ph.D - his talk will cover George Armstrong Custer and the Battle of the Little Bighorn and include a question period, while guests bring their own lunches and pay a $3 fee if not museum members. The lecture is part of a monthly series held at 422 West Sandusky Street.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Findlay/Hancock County Bar Association is hosting its annual Law Day Breakfast on May 1 at 7:30 a.m. at the Findlay Country Club & will honor lawyers with over 50 years of practice while featuring a presentation from Findlay City Schools students 'We The People,' moderated by retired Judge Reginald J.   • The City of Findlay, with Police Chief James Mathias advising, warns residents to be ready today for severe weather and to use multiple alert sources as 16 outdoor warning sirens are posted across the community — eight of which were recently upgraded. Five of the new sirens activated accidentally last Friday, and city workers reset and tested them to ensure they work properly.  WFIN
  • The Hancock Leadership Class of 2025 finished planting flowers and shrubs on Saturday in front of the new Allan H. Davis Judicial Center — a project that leads up to the ribbon cutting on May 2 at 4:30 p.m. Donors and local organizations supported the work that refreshed the public space.  WFIN
  • The Findlay Fire Department reminds drivers today to slow down at crosswalks—yielding to pedestrians, avoiding distractions and not passing stopped vehicles. Their advice aims to boost road safety in local neighborhoods.  WFIN
  • The City of Findlay announced that road work and sewer improvements are affecting traffic on Broad Ave, W. Melrose Ave, East St, Carnahan Ave, and Twp. Road 80 from April 29 to May 2. Drivers are advised to avoid these routes — updates on scheduling will be provided as available.  WFIN
