- ➤ Shawnee United Methodist Church celebrated its 24-year Blessing of the Bikes this past weekend as riders began arriving at 7 a.m. to receive prayers and support for safe riding; the church will host next year’s event (typically held the first weekend in May) (as rising motorcycle crash numbers have heightened safety concerns). - ➤ Hancock County 4-H members have collected plastic lids and bottle caps at Oakwoods Nature Preserve Discovery Center for over five years to help recycle waste. They will use these recycled items to make benches and tables for the county fairgrounds, with one bench needing about 400 pounds of caps. Hometown Stations

- ➤ Nine area school teams met at Ohio State Lima on Friday to answer about 30 quiz questions on history, math, music, and science—Defiance High School won both the varsity and JV contests while Shawnee finished second. This marks Defiance’s second straight varsity win. Hometown Stations
- ➤ St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Findlay will open Chesterton Academy— a new high school set to start in the 2026-2027 school year— to add a classical Catholic education option alongside its existing elementary program. Board chair Rob Spicer said market research showed local families want a school with small classes and a rigorous curriculum. WFIN
