- ➤ Since May 5, over 850 volunteers have been spread across Hancock County for United Way of Hancock County’s Days of Caring event, working on 85 projects that include landscaping, building, organizing, painting, planting and construction. They are expected to complete 3,444 service hours worth about $119,820 by May 9 — funds that local nonprofits can use for their missions. WFIN
- ➤ Blanchard Valley Health System will host a community open house at its new Wellness Park campus from 7 to 8 p.m. on May 8 — the event features a ribbon-cutting with the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and guided tours. The campus offers comprehensive care services including primary care, pediatrics and rehabilitation therapies and is located at 3401 and 3411 Wellness Way in Findlay. WFIN

- ➤ The Blanchard Valley Health System Auxiliary awarded 11 $1,000 scholarships to students in Hancock + nearby counties who plan to pursue health care careers. Funds come from membership dues and winners include local students from Findlay High School plus others attending universities such as Bowling Green State University, Miami University and the Ohio State University. - ➤ The University of Findlay will hold commencement ceremonies for 2025 graduates on May 10 at the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex with the graduate event starting at 8 a.m. and the undergraduate event beginning at 2 p.m.—Marc Brown will also give a free public presentation at 7 p.m. More than 860 graduates will earn degrees ranging from associate to doctoral while distinguished speakers like Paul Worstell are honored. - ➤ Hancock County Common Pleas Court Judge Jonathan Starn ruled that votes cast in Allen Township’s zoning resolution issue on Tuesday’s Primary Ballot were counted—One Power Company’s effort to nullify the votes will continue with a pretrial hearing set for today afternoon. WFIN
