- ➤ On Saturday, volunteers from the American Red Cross of North Central Ohio and Liberty Township Fire Department installed over 100 free smoke alarms at Riverview Terrace Mobile Home Park to help protect local families from home fires. Executive Director Todd James said the effort makes homes safer—plans for similar future events are underway. WFIN

- ➤ University of Findlay announced it will partner with Slingshot to launch a refreshed campus store experience beginning in August with new branded merchandise and a course material subscription called Slingshot Choice. First-time students will receive essential materials on arrival while returning students can access their accounts starting July 1 — the service offers delivery, pickup, or shipping options. WFIN
- ➤ Field agronomist Kyle Poling said that corn needs strong roots—first, seminal roots form from the seed to anchor and absorb water, and later, nodal roots grow to take up more water and nutrients. A solid root system is key for corn to reach its yield potential. WFIN
- ➤ Findlay City Schools will host Hancock County’s Summer Lunch Program from June 9 to July 31 at Glenwood Middle School—offering free lunches and daily fun activities for those under 18 with adult meals available for $4.25. WFIN
