COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The United Way of Hancock County’s Spring Days of Caring event was held May 4 — 8 and 712 local volunteers completed 78 projects at nonprofits, parks, and public sites. Agencies saved staff time and money, and a new three-day event is set for September. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Nine students from Millstream Career Center competed at the SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships in Columbus earlier this week, with three finishing in the top 10 and Micah Wise earning a medal. Lincoln Cummings (Welding) placed 6th as other competitors showcased their skills. WFIN
- ➤ Congressman Bob Latta recognized four local students for their acceptance to U.S. Military Service Academies at a ceremony at the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio Air National Guard. Appointed to the Class of 2030, the students from Pandora Gilboa, Avon, and Mohawk High Schools begin a new chapter in military training. WFIN

- ➤ BVHS hosted its annual Service Awards Banquet today to honor associates with 10 to 50 years of service and recognize the 2025 Associates of the Month; attendees enjoyed dinner and a trivia game with BVHS prizes (from BVHS). WFIN
