- ➤ Earlier, community members held a memorial service in Hancock County to honor 10 fallen officers from Findlay, Bluffton, and Fostoria police departments and the state highway patrol, as well as longtime chaplain Bishop Terry McBeath during National Police Week. Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn declared Law Enforcement Recognition Week — the ceremony featured a wreath-laying, a 21-gun salute, and taps to pay tribute. Hometown Stations
- ➤ The Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce will bring back Rally in the Alley at Latham Courtyard on South Main Street starting May 30—it will run every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. until July 25. WFIN
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center launched its Digital Archive yesterday—now featuring over 120 historical and cultural artifacts—to provide a free resource for educators and community members. Support from Ohio Humanities, the Findlay Hancock County Community Foundation and a University of Findlay team helped complete the first phase, and more items will be added in the coming months. - ➤ Findlay City Schools will host Hancock County’s Summer Lunch Program from June 9 to July 31 at Glenwood Middle School, 1715 North Main Street, offering free lunches to residents under 18 and a meal to take home for Friday. The program will include daily activities and adult meals for $4.25. WFIN

- ➤ The Hancock County Sheriff's Office marks National Police Week, from May 11th—May 17th, by honoring law enforcement officers for their courage and dedication. The office thanked its deputies for their sacrifices and commitment to keeping the community safe. WFIN
- ➤ The City of Findlay is updating road construction from May 12th to May 16th—Broad Ave will have one lane each way and W. Melrose Ave, East St, Carnahan Ave, Allen Ave, Midland Ave, Garfield Ave, George St, and Twp. Road 80 will be closed for curb replacement or a sanitary sewer project. Motorists should avoid these blocks and call the Engineering Department at 419-424-7121 with questions. WFIN
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ BVHS CEO Myron Lewis said that federal proposals, including a plan to cut $880 billion over 10 years, may reduce Medicaid funding that helps pay for care and covers many patients+ this could make it harder for hospitals to care for people. He urged lawmakers on Capitol Hill to work with community leaders+ protect the funds needed to keep care available for our community. WFIN
