- ➤ Today the Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition and Shawnee responders teamed with school leaders to launch a click it or ticket campaign that gives seatbelt-wearing drivers a McFlurry coupon. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Findlay named its new Watterson Center (in honor of Billy ’96 and Brenda Watterson, who donated $6 million) on April 30. The center will launch (this fall) an ethical leadership program for incoming students. University of Findlay
- ➤ The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum will host its Summer Art Camp from July 20 to 24 — offering grade and middle school students art lessons inspired by nature from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily with a family reception on the final day and a $175 registration fee. University of Findlay
- ➤ Students witnessed a simulated crash at Allen East today to illustrate the risks of distracted driving (organized by the local SADD club) using a realistic demonstration with emergency responders (including fire departments). Hometown Stations
- ➤ Children’s Mentoring Connection announced 2026 scholarships for high school mentors and mentees from Hancock County, including recipients from Findlay High. Mentor Brookanne Busch plans to attend University of Findlay to become a teacher, showcasing the program's strong focus on leadership and meaningful connections. WFIN
