- ➤ This summer, Findlay families will join Summer Connect 2025—an initiative by the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, Hancock Public Health and City Parks & Recreation—that offers seven free events in parks and community spaces with games, crafts and free health screenings. The series runs from June 5 at Bernard Park to July 17 at Gateway Church with sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. WFIN
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A USDA crop progress report from May 12 showed that 25% of Ohio's corn and soybeans had been planted while only 14% of the corn and 11% of the soybeans had emerged. Wet soil delayed further planting even though gentle rain helped some fields—experts say heavy rains may cause soil to crust around seeds. WFIN

- ➤ Cory-Rawson Elementary School hosted its second annual Habit Hop on May 16 (a family event with a picnic lunch and seven stations to teach key habits) led by staff and student volunteers. The event also received support from the Lighthouse Team and Findlay-Hancock Community Foundation. WFIN
- ➤ The Findlay High School Class of 2025 commencement will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 10 a.m. at the University of Findlay’s Koehler Center — a livestream will also be available. WFIN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost issued the 2024 Ohio Missing Children Clearinghouse Report on May 19 in honor of National Missing Children’s Day on May 25. The report showed that last year Ohio had 21,342 missing person cases, including 16,404 missing children with 15,834 recovered safely — the figures coming from a coordinated effort between local law enforcement and the NCIC. - ➤ Columbia Gas will reduce Center Street to one lane in each direction from Main St to the railroad for a gas line replacement project starting May 22 and lasting about 6 weeks. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic and help keep motorists safe. WFIN
