COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Findlay’s annual Memorial Day Parade is set for Monday, May 25 with a Bridge Ceremony at 9 a.m. on Main Street Bridge that will honor fallen veterans and a parade beginning at 10 in front of the American Legion before proceeding to Maple Grove Cemetery for a service.  WFIN
  • Findlay Police Department will host its annual Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday, June 6 at 9:00 a.m. Children ages 4 and 12 can learn bike safety and receive free gear at the event.  WFIN

CULTURE NEWS

  • Findlay is set to kick off summer with Boogie on the Block on Friday, June 5 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Roman-Jebitt Festival Grounds (MCPA Parking Lot). The event will feature live bands, local food, refreshing drinks, and family games.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Twenty-five 8th graders from Heir Force Community School celebrated their graduation Tuesday as they prepared to choose high schools next year; the ceremony was held at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center with many proud families in attendance.  Hometown Stations

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ODOT Press Secretary Matt Bruning (state official) advises drivers to be cautious on crowded roads and watch for orange barrels this Memorial Day Weekend, noting that last holiday featured 13 fatal crashes with many involving alcohol and drugs.  WFIN

SPORTS NEWS

  • Mulligans Golf Association will offer a free summer golf program for youth 8 to 17 at Tamarac Golf Club, teaching golf fundamentals and advanced skills. Sessions run Mondays and Wednesdays from June 8 through July 8, and only the first 40 registrants will join (registration by phone to Londell Smith).  Hometown Stations
