- ➤ Riverside Pool at the Findlay Family YMCA opens today for the season with hours set for weekdays 1-7 PM and weekends 12-6 PM (weather must reach at least 68° by 11 a.m. to open) and its Flag City Invitational swim meet is scheduled for June 12 and 13. WFIN
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Marianna Hofer Endowment Grant has funded local artists and organizations such as Caitlin Parke and Findlay Art League to develop projects in jazz, watercolor, acrylic landscapes, and community art programs. The grant, honoring educator Marianna L. Hofer (a longtime arts advocate), boosts creative growth in Findlay. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Findlay-Hancock County Public Library announced the SummerREAD theme, ‘Unearth a Story,’ with kick-off festivities starting June 1 at the Main Library (10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 4–6 p.m.) and family events planned at the Arlington Branch on June 5 (with crafts, games, and prizes). WFIN

- ➤ Mayor Christina Muryn announced the winners of the America 250 Banner Competition; winning entries will be displayed across Downtown Findlay (all summer). WFIN
- ➤ The Findlay Police Department announced today that K9 Officer Deke (after more than 9 years of service) is retiring to enjoy endless treats and belly rubs. The department now has two K9s (Axel and Asa) to support its operations. WFIN
