COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Saturday, June 13, the Flag City Community Vet Fest Music Festival will be held Downtown in Findlay to celebrate our heroes with live music, food trucks, adult beverages, and special recognition for local veterans+ veteran-friendly businesses.  WFIN
  • Today, the Findlay leg of the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics begins at 4:30 p.m. from the University of Findlay, with runners heading along N. Main St. and stopping by the Hancock County Courthouse to support local athletes.  WFIN
  • On Monday, Findlay held its Memorial Day Parade where crowds lined West Main Cross Street as the procession moved downtown to Maple Grove Cemetery for a service at the War Memorial (honoring fallen service members).  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Findlay Kiwanis Club awarded $2,500 scholarships to full-time students in Hancock County—honoring long-time member Fred Brucklacher. High school juniors and college students can apply in January for the 2027 awards online.  WFIN
  • Findlay High School congratulated its Class of 2026 valedictorian Nicholas Kasiborski and salutatorian Yung-Che Chang for their academic achievements today at a school ceremony (officials called their success a model for future graduates).  WFIN

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents can recycle tires on Saturday, June 6 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the back lot at 7746 CR140 in Findlay. Participants (16+ years old) may bring up to four tires that are 20-inch or less and off the rim; proof of Hancock County residency is required.  WFIN
