EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bowling Green State University President’s Leadership Academy announced that Findlay and Lima area residents, including Gracin Romero of McComb High School and Graham Shively of Wapakoneta Senior High School, were selected as scholars—joining 40 students picked from 550 applicants to receive a four-year scholarship. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Development announced almost $27 million in housing grants for projects across 57 counties today. The funding supports construction and rehabilitation efforts in New Lima, Putnam County, and Hancock County (including Habitat for Humanity of Findlay) to boost affordable housing. Hometown Stations
- ➤ Hancock County ADAMHS has completed renovations at its main office on Carnahan Avenue in Findlay and will reopen to the public on Monday, June 1. The office will operate Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm (call 419-424-1985 for more details). WFIN

- ➤ Garner Trucking will be featured as the primary sponsor on Michael McDowell's No. 71 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at two upcoming NASCAR Cup Series races. The paint scheme debuts Sunday, May 31 at Nashville Superspeedway, returning the next weekend at Michigan International Speedway. WFIN
- ➤ The University of Findlay will host its second annual Oil Can Classic Pickleball Tournament on June 25 and 26 at the UF pickleball courts on 201 College Street — teams of two, open to residents 18 and older, must register by June 12. WFIN
