  • Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County will dedicate three new homes on Tuesday, June 10 at 4:30 p.m. on Bishop Lane—guests will hear remarks from community leaders and tour the homes after a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  WFIN
  • Flag City Honor Flight is flying Veterans free today to Washington D.C.—priority is given to terminally ill Veterans and those who applied first—and the program will complete four trips this year with support from local donors.  WFIN

CRIME NEWS

  • An officer from the Findlay Police Department watched 141 Lotze St. on June 2nd at 1:08 p.m. for two residents with active warrants, and when Charles Cooper III barricaded himself and Madison Fenbert hid in a closet, a joint tactical team breached the door and arrested both suspects + they were taken to Hancock County Jail.  WFIN

HEALTH NEWS

  • Ticks are causing more problems in fields, pastures, and wooded fence lines as they now pose a greater threat to people, pets, and livestock—experts note that tick species have shifted significantly from just a few common types to more dangerous, medically important varieties over the past twenty years.  WFIN
  • Findlay Fire Department fire inspector Eric Wilkins said the available time to escape a house fire has greatly decreased—working smoke detectors and following an escape plan are key to safety.  WFIN
