- ➤ The 45th annual Torch Run for Special Olympics—set for Wednesday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at the University of Findlay—will have officers from the Findlay Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff’s Office carry the torch through town to meet Special Olympics athletes at St. Marks United Methodist Church ahead of the Ohio Special Olympics Summer Games from June 13-15 in Columbus. - ➤ Findlay’s Hancock Historical Museum will host History with a Twist on Saturday, June 14 from 4 to 7 p.m., where eight local bartenders will compete by crafting 1990s-inspired cocktails for Grand Champion and People’s Choice awards. Attendees will enjoy cocktail tastings, appetizers and live music—tickets cost $55 for museum members and $65 for nonmembers. WFIN
- ➤ MCPA’s Boogie on the Block, a long-loved summer kick-off, will take place tomorrow—Friday, June 6—from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM at the Roman-Jebitt Festival Grounds where live music from Amelia Airharts and Doc Robinson and food vendors will offer a festive experience; tickets cost $7 for general admission and $3 for youth. - ➤ A new Ohio law went into effect in April, making it harder for drivers to lose their licenses for unpaid fees and fines by reserving suspensions for dangerous driving convictions. The law has already removed suspension blocks for over 170,000 drivers+ restored licenses for more than 7,000, and allowed over 24,000 to take driving tests. WFIN
- ➤ OSHP urged Findlay drivers to drive safely during the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer when traffic increases and more serious crashes are reported - Governor DeWine asked motorists to buckle up, avoid distractions and not drive impaired. WFIN

- ➤ Senate President Rob McColley honored three state wrestling champions — Edward Kessen from Delphos St. John's, Adam Mattin from Delta High and Laney Oliver from Findlay High — on June 4. Mattin earned his third state title and is headed to Stanford while Kessen helped his school win its first state title and Oliver ended her streak as a runner-up after multiple near misses.
