- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Findlay/Hancock County finished construction of three new homes in the 1700 block of Bishop Lane during a home dedication ceremony. The new homes—first of six planned for 2025—were built with help from over 600 volunteers as part of an effort to ease the local affordable housing shortage. WFIN
- ➤ Mayor Christina Muryn invites young players to join the Playball with the Mayor event on July 16 at Miracle Field where they will take part in drills and a softball game before enjoying a free Flag City Sluggers game, and participants will receive a T-shirt (provided by the United States Conference of Mayors) while tickets are given on a first come, first served basis. - ➤ The EPA proposed new biofuel rules for 2026 and 2027 that increase biomass-based diesel from 3.35 billion gallons to 5.61 billion gallons in 2026 and require 15 billion gallons of biofuels each year. Ohio farmers, including Rusty Goebel of the Ohio Soybean Association, said the proposal is a big win—biofuels add 13% to soybean prices and support rural markets. WFIN

- ➤ Ohio regulators are warning seniors about financial scams during Elder Abuse Awareness Month as 302 scam complaints in 2024 mark a 22% rise from 247 plus over $64 million were lost, and officials advise talking with loved ones + contacting law enforcement if warning signs are noticed. - ➤ The Findlay City Planning Commission approved plans from Curaleaf OGT Inc. and Trulieve, Oh Inc. to open cannabis dispensaries at 2205 Tiffin Avenue (formerly a Dollar General) and 1501 West Main Cross Street (formerly Guaranteed Auto) if they follow all Ohio Division of Cannabis Control rules. The move follows the city's new Cannabis Overlay District that allows up to two dispensaries to operate. WFIN
- ➤ S. Cory St. between W. Crawford and W. Main Cross St. was closed at 8 a.m. on June 11th for 90 days and the alley behind the Post Office was affected — eastbound traffic turned south and exited on W. Crawford St. while the bike lane remained open. The city closed the streets for pedestrian and municipal safety — data will be gathered during the 90 days before the closure may become permanent if approved. WFIN
- ➤ The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will host an informational presentation on the state budget update on June 18 at 2 p.m. in its Lindamood Room, featuring insights from Jennifer Williams (nonprofit expert) and Sarah Clevidence (library director). WFIN
