CULTURE NEWS

  • The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall—a 3/5 scale replica honoring those who served in the Vietnam War—will leave Findlay Reineke Ford at 9:00 a.m. on June 26 and travel to Fostoria Community Schools, where volunteers will assemble its panels and local officials will host an opening ceremony at 4:00 p.m. on that day.  WFIN
  • The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is hosting its 11th annual Enchanted Brush exhibit that features 27 works from 22 international fantasy artists in the Lea Gallery of UF’s Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, open now through August 29 — many pieces are available for purchase with a Legendary theme. A reception will be held on Tuesday, July 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with a gallery tour and artist discussions.  WFIN
  • The Hancock Historical Museum invites local residents to a free Classic Movie Night screening of the Technicolor musical 'State Fair' on Friday, June 20, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the film beginning at 7:00 p.m. at 422 West Sandusky Street.  WFIN

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Lower crop prices and mixed input cost changes are challenging Ohio's outlook for corn, soybean and wheat profits in 2025—production costs are expected to be steady to slightly higher with rising land rents and varying machinery expenses.  WFIN

  • Ohio Governor Mike DeWine ordered the Ohio State Highway Patrol to increase security indefinitely for state lawmakers in response to the Minnesota shootings—State Senator Casey Weinstein said the attack was chilling.  WFIN
  • Hancock County Commissioners have launched a summer outreach program called Town & Country Tuesdays where they will meet local residents at eateries and parks in Findlay. The schedule, including meetings on June 17 and June 24, will be posted on the commissioners' website.  WFIN
