Father Charles Obinwa, who served 22 years at Mercy Health St. Rita’s, had a farewell celebration Friday—he will begin serving at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville.

At 11:31 a.m. on June 26, a semi hit slow traffic on I-75 near SR 103 and caused a chain reaction of eight vehicles that injured three people plus two suffered serious injuries, prompting crews to close both northbound and southbound lanes until about 2:00 p.m.

Attorney General Dave Yost announced on June 16 that 55 attorneys general signed a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family — the deal will provide up to $198 million to Ohio over the next 15 years for opioid treatment and recovery services.

Local governments nationwide will be asked to join the settlement pending approval by a federal bankruptcy judge.
