  • Father Charles Obinwa, who served 22 years at Mercy Health St. Rita’s, had a farewell celebration Friday—he will begin serving at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville.  Hometown Stations

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 11:31 a.m. on June 26, a semi hit slow traffic on I-75 near SR 103 and caused a chain reaction of eight vehicles that injured three people plus two suffered serious injuries, prompting crews to close both northbound and southbound lanes until about 2:00 p.m.  Hometown Stations

CULTURE NEWS

  • The University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is hosting its 11th annual Enchanted Brush exhibit in the Lea Gallery of UF’s Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, where 27 fantasy art pieces by 22 international artists are on display under the theme Legendary and free to the public through August 29. A reception with a gallery tour and artist discussion will take place on July 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and many works are available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the artists.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Dave Yost announced on June 16 that 55 attorneys general signed a $7.4 billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family — the deal will provide up to $198 million to Ohio over the next 15 years for opioid treatment and recovery services. Local governments nationwide will be asked to join the settlement pending approval by a federal bankruptcy judge.  Hometown Stations
  • Ohio travel officials advise drivers to check their cars, allow extra travel time, and drive sober ahead of the 4th of July holiday. The Ohio Department of Transportation, AAA and the State Highway Patrol recommend planning safe trips with a designated driver or rideshare — getting home safely is a must.  NBC4
  • Interstate 75 interchange ramps at U.S. 68/SR 15 will close tomorrow night from 5 p.m. to midnight for micro milling to improve friction (drivers should use the Lima Ave. roundabout as a detour).  WFIN

  • The Hancock County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services now offers a free Companion app for families, friends and loved ones of people with substance use disorder — built by CHESS Health to provide a peer community, educational content and online support meetings.  WFIN
