COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will offer a variety of free family programs next week including reading games, storytimes, teen book giveaways, craft circle, and an author talk. Many events are set from July 13th to 19th — providing hands-on learning and fun for all ages.  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Millstream Career Center’s $3.4 million expansion—funded by a state career tech grant—is nearly complete and will soon add a Manufacturing and Industrial Robotics program while expanding its Engineering and Robotics program. Director Pam Hamlin said that many students on the wait list will benefit after the groundbreaking in November 2024.  WFIN
  • Hancock County ADAMHS will host the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services 40-hour Peer Recovery Supporter Training in Findlay from October 20th to October 24th — the course will run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at NAMI Hancock County on W. Hardin Street. Eligible participants in recovery will learn through interactive role-play and discussion and may apply for Adult Peer Recovery Supporter Certification after successful completion.  WFIN
  • Children’s Mentoring Connection (CMC) in Findlay has provided hands-on learning through camps, tours, and activities over the past six months. The free program now accepts new applications for children ages 6–14 (especially those with single parents, grandparents, or other caregivers) to receive one-on-one mentoring and support.  WFIN
