- ➤ The American Red Cross of North Central Ohio invites local residents to nominate heroes who saved or improved lives between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1 for the 2025 Hero Awards and the Clara Ayres Award for medical crisis help. Selected nominees will be honored on Oct. 22 at noon at Hilton Garden Inn Findlay — nominations are due by Aug. 13. WFIN

- ➤ United Way of Hancock County and City Apparel are teaming up to boost the school year by hosting an event at City Apparel — Merch at 116 E. Main Cross on July 24 and 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Community members will join by buying lunch from food trucks and writing encouraging notes for teachers while part of the sales supports local food security efforts. - ➤ The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced that girls flag football will be a state championship event beginning in spring 2026—this decision was made during a press conference in Canton with representatives from the NFL, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
