- ➤ The Blue Angels announced they will add seven new officers for the 2026 air show season. Findlay native Capt. Olivia Bair - a C-130J demonstration pilot - joins the team. WFIN
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will host its 10th annual local author fair on November 7 from 5:30pm—8pm during Findlay’s Fall ArtWalk, providing a table for each participating author to present and sell their work. Applications are due by October 1, and acceptance is at the discretion of the library staff. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ University of Findlay Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Darin Fields, will step down effective August 1 and will join the English, philosophy, and religious studies department as a professor while also working in the Institutional Research Office—marking a shift in leadership. Christine Denecker will serve as interim vice president and continue to lead UF’s Center for Teaching Excellence as part of the academic transition. WFIN
- ➤ Liberty-Benton Local Schools has launched an Alumni Spotlight series that shares the paths and successes of its graduates + highlights how they give back to the community. Alumni are invited to submit their stories to help celebrate these achievements. WFIN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Transportation said State Route 568 on the east side was closed on May 15th for 75 days to rehabilitate two bridges that span the Blanchard River and Glauner Ditch, and it now is aiming to reopen the roadway on August 8th. The reopening was delayed after hydro-demolition found the approach slabs over the ditch need a complete replacement — a problem that prompted a revised schedule. WFIN
