- ➤ The American Red Cross of North Central Ohio invites residents from Hancock, Putnam, Seneca, Wyandot, Erie, Huron, and Lorain Counties to nominate local heroes who saved or improved lives from Jan. 1 to Aug. 1, with nominations closing Aug. 13. Nominees will be honored at an event at the Hilton Garden Inn Findlay on Oct. 22 at noon — including the Clara Ayres Award for Extraordinary Service — highlighting community courage. WFIN
