  • The Hancock County Parkinson’s Network launches its annual Tulip Bulb Sale today through August 31 with a new garden flag featuring the message Grow Hope—orders of 100 or more bulbs qualify for free delivery in Findlay and pick up on October 7 at College First Church of God. Proceeds support Parkinson’s education, programming, and community awareness.  WFIN

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Findlay police reported that passenger Sandy Sanchez, 35, was in critical but stable condition after a two-vehicle crash at 10:38 a.m. Thursday as the car leaving an apartment complex on South Main Street struck a pickup truck—an eight-year-old boy was also treated for minor injuries while driver Claend Wise, 24, was cited for failure to yield and driving under non-compliance suspension.  Hometown Stations

CULTURE NEWS

  • Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will host its 10th annual local author fair on November 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. during Findlay’s Fall ArtWalk to let local authors and illustrators share and sell their work—authors are provided a table measuring about 4ft by 2ft and must handle their own sales as applications close on October 1.  WFIN

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local beekeepers say the honey bee population in west central Ohio has seen only a 10% decline while national numbers drop by as much as 70%. Ty Shelby (of the Greater Grand Lake Beekeepers Association) warned that common yard chemicals remove important food sources and urged planting more bee-friendly plants.  Hometown Stations

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Findlay Police Department held active shooter drills at the local high school ahead of the new school year to train officers on quickly entering and focusing an active killer away from students. The drill used realistic actors with simulated injuries, and the fire department & HANCO personnel provided treatment for the actors.  WFIN
  • The Ohio Department of Aging will host six town halls in August and September to gather input for Ohio’s 2027-2030 State Plan on Aging. The first session is in Findlay on August 15 from 2-4 p.m. at the 50 North Senior Center—where older Ohioans, caregivers, and providers can share their views.  WFIN

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • On Wednesday, the front portion and main entrance of the Findlay Mall were demolished to make room for a planned 131,809-square-foot Target store that began demolition in June over an area of 188,000 square feet. The work also created a 24-foot drive and extra parking near shops like Dunham's, Michael's, and Tokyo Steakhouse, while no timeline for completion was provided.  WFIN
