COMMUNITY NEWS

  • All four local pools have one free day left under the Fun For All series by the Community Foundation. Arlington Pool, McComb Pool, Mt. Blanchard Pool and Riverside Pool received grants from local groups, with dates subject to change due to weather + updates pending.  WFIN

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Findlay Police Department said motorcyclist Robert L. Courtney Jr. was injured in a crash on Friday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle in the 200 block of East Pine Avenue at 7:40 a.m. and struck a parked vehicle — he was taken by HANCO ambulance to the hospital with suspected broken bones and cited for riding without reasonable control and not wearing a helmet with his temporary permit.  WFIN
  • On July 24th, 2025, Hancock County deputies and Allen Township Fire Department responded after a man fell off his kayak in a pond near 11770 Township Road 114 in Allen Township, and he was found just before 6 p.m. and pronounced dead + investigators are reviewing the case.  Hometown Stations

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Hancock County Solid Waste Management District announced a new donation bin on the South End at the Hancock County Building at 401 Olive Street, where recycling will be collected on Mondays and Thursdays. There are now 18 recycling locations including the Recycling Hub at the old Litter Landing at 1720 East Sandusky Street, and residents are reminded to break down boxes and place all items inside the containers.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Route 568 on the east side of Findlay reopened a little before 8 p.m. Friday after crews finished work on two bridges—one over the Blanchard River between Township Road 234 and County Road 236 and one over a ditch between County Road 236 and County Road 237—as the Ohio Department of Transportation noted the structures needed repair; crews will begin finish work next week so drivers must remain alert.  WFIN

  • Stacey Tooman, RN, received the July DAISY Award at Blanchard Valley Hospital—she was nominated by a mother whose 4-month-old son was treated for RSV—as her care made a special difference for the family.  WFIN
