Findlay City Schools staff were inspired today when high school senior Rayanna Cap spoke at the convocation, explaining how teachers, bus drivers and nurses—everyone in the district—help students grow.

She emphasized that believing in students makes a big difference in their success.

Children’s Mentoring Connection—running 10 school-based programs in Hancock County—is asking high school students and older to serve as mentors for students in grades 3 to 7 who build friendships, explore STEAM activities, learn about the community and develop leadership skills.

Allen County is preparing to launch the Next Generation 9-1-1 system in January to improve emergency response times — dispatchers will receive more precise caller locations from cell phones and smart watches.

Applications are now open for the Golden Apple Volunteer Program at Blanchard Valley Health System, offering volunteers clinical experience working with older adults in a structured setting.

Mandatory orientation is set for August 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.—volunteers must attend weekly sessions on Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. from September 11 until November 20.
