COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Miracle League of Findlay is asking volunteers to join a community build to install 36 pieces of fitness equipment in its $450,000 park expansion, as site work will begin later this month. The project will run September 23 to 25 with supervisors guiding teams and providing lunch & water daily. WFIN
- ➤ Findlay City Schools will host the Trojan Country Kickoff on Friday, August 22 at Donnell Stadium from 5:00—6:30 p.m. ahead of the first home football game. The event offers bounce houses, an obstacle course, face painting, concessions, district support organizations and Trojan spirit wear for family fun. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Findlay High School has updated its pick-up and drop-off procedures by allowing both the bus lane and typical car rider lane for morning drop-offs and afternoon pickups—families should follow the recommended traffic patterns to ensure a safe and quick process. WFIN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Findlay received a grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry to hire an urban forester—who will assess city trees, develop a Community Forestry Management Plan, and train staff and the Shade Tree Commission. Up to 300 trees may be replaced and removals will follow ODNR best practices if safety issues are found. WFIN
- ➤ The Findlay Police Department hired officers Brooklynn Downing and Emily Bornhorst after Mayor Christina Muryn swore them in this morning — both will attend the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy before joining the Patrol Division. Hometown Stations

- ➤ Birchaven Village has partnered with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to accept VA insurance, letting local veterans use their benefits for senior care services such as rehabilitation, long-term care, and memory care—expanding options in Findlay. WFIN
