ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A two-vehicle collision occurred Saturday night at the intersection of SR 309—Baty Road in American Township when Lima resident Maria Hollstein, 61, was taken to St. Rita’s with serious but not life-threatening injuries while Lakyn Lopez, 17, sustained minor injuries and driver Jeffrey Hollstein is suspected of alcohol use.  Hometown Stations

CRIME NEWS

  • On August 24th, officers stopped a motorcycle at W Crawford St for a missing license plate but the rider sped away on Liberty St—Lima Ave—I-75 before it vanished near SR12, and six minutes later a fatal crash occurred at U.S. 224 and Township Road 259 as the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Ohio Department of Transportation is studying the feasibility of I-73, a proposed highway that would run along U.S.23 and link Toledo, Columbus and Chesapeake. The $1.5 million study will be completed by December 2026—its results will help shape a multi-state route from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Hometown Stations
