- ➤ Northwest Ohioans are invited to join the Findlay/Hancock County Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 27 at Riverside Park, 231 McManness Ave—registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with a Promise Garden ceremony at 10 and the walk will follow immediately to support Alzheimer’s education, care services and research. - ➤ Bluffton University President Dr. Alex Sider outlined four key priorities—stability, fundraising, compassion and student success—during his first State of the University address, noting that the school would focus on campus improvements after ending merger talks with the University of Findlay. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Findlay City Council passed a resolution that lets the mayor adopt an updated Hazard Mitigation Plan needed for FEMA to release funds for flood projects. The city will break ground this fall on three projects to lower flood levels downtown by three feet and reduce risks for over 2,000 properties — a key step to protect lives and property. WFIN
