COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On September 4, 2025, community members will gather outside the Hancock County Courthouse for Silent Watch from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.—volunteers will stand guard every 22 minutes while mental-health support is provided to honor veterans and raise suicide-prevention awareness.  Hometown Stations

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Marathon Center for the Performing Arts announced the election of four board members—Dr. Sarah Fedirka, Keturah Harding Pohl, Cole McMath, and Reginald Routson—on August 27; they bring skills in education, business, leadership, and the arts to help guide the center.  Hometown Stations

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Emily completed her two-year training with Project LIFE at Blanchard Valley Center and gained the skills needed to succeed in the workforce — she now looks forward to contributing to the community.  WFIN
  • Students at Northview Primary and Whittier Primary enjoyed adaptive swings installed on their playgrounds yesterday—thanks to donations from Jennite Company and support from Blanchard Valley Center. Findlay City Schools coordinated the upgrade with local teachers ensuring a wheelchair accessible pathway for all.  WFIN

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio Chapter will host three free programs in September to teach locals about healthy aging and the signs of Alzheimer’s. The sessions will be held at Findlay YMCA on September 17 at 11:30 a.m.—Putnam County Library on September 23 at 5:00 p.m.—and Leipsic Community Center on September 24 at 5:00 p.m., and registration is required at each location.  WFIN
