- ➤ Fort Findlay FOP Lodge 20 Foundation received a $4,300 check from Ohio Logistics at the 13th annual WKXA/106.3 The Fox Charity Golf Scramble. Development Director Teresa White said the funds will go to the Cops and Kids Champion Fund to boost law enforcement’s positive interactions with youth—especially after the recent loss of Officer Schimmoeller. - ➤ One Power Company reduced its workforce as it reorganized on County Road 215 just north of Findlay— a company statement confirmed it remains operational and is working with its lenders and creditors during the process. WFIN

- ➤ The University of Findlay will host Broadway performer Ali Ewoldt on September 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Winebrenner TLB Auditorium—she will be accompanied by Grammy-nominated conductor Phil Reno. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Findlay has announced a new 2+2 engineering pathway program in partnership with Ohio Northern University and Wright State University that lets students spend two years at Findlay before transferring to finish their engineering degrees (with options in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering) while advisors at both schools help guide them (for smoother credit transfer). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ODOT data shows the dogbone roundabout at I-75/U.S. 68/SR 15/Lima Avenue reduced total crashes from 48 to 9 and injury crashes from eight to one—numbers that reflect an 86 percent and 91 percent drop. Cheri Newton said the structure improved intersection safety and congestion as officials tracked its performance. WFIN
- ➤ The City of Findlay partnered with Hancock County Commissioners and Stantec engineers to submit a FEMA Letter of Map Revision following Phase I benching of the Blanchard River to remove or reduce flood risk designations for hundreds of parcels. Once approved, property owners may see relief from flood insurance requirements and lower premiums as more mitigation improvements are planned—providing long-term safety benefits for the area. WFIN

- ➤ The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library now offers two new grief support books donated by the Hancock County ADAMHS Board to help residents cope with loss (Grief Recovery Handbook and Understanding Your Suicide Grief are available for checkout). - ➤ The Lima Memorial Foundation hosted its 25th Journey to the Max fundraiser at Apex Sports Zone in Elida and 500 people attended to help raise over $1 million for new medical equipment that will improve health care.
