COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Local veterans from Findlay took an Honor Flight to Washington last Sunday and joined 166 others in visiting national memorials. They thanked organizers—such as Mike Melvin—for arranging the trip, marking a memorable day of service and reflection. Hometown Stations
- ➤ Reineke Ford in Findlay is partnering with Ford Motor Company during Global Caring Month to host the Fill the Ford food drive from September 15 to 25, 2025, collecting canned goods and non-perishable food at dealerships and select grocery stores. The drive aims to gather 2,000 pounds of donations, with half going to West Ohio Food Bank and the rest supporting local hunger relief programs. Hometown Stations
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ GROB Systems Inc in Bluffton held an open house with interactive STEM activities and machine displays—training manager Mark Reed said the event was designed to spark interest in science and math while sharing real work experiences. - ➤ Congressman Bob Latta will host two informational sessions for families and students about the U.S. Military Service Academy nomination process. One session will be at Owens Community College on Thursday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. — the other at the Transportation and Community Center in Elyria on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. WFIN
- ➤ Liberty-Benton Local Schools earned a 4.5 star rating on the Ohio State Report Card which shows the district is exceeding state standards. The high score places the school among the best in the area and reflects the dedication of its students and staff. WFIN
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Findlay has scheduled road work from 9/22 to 9/26 that will close Twp. Rd. 77 on Western Ave. from Twp. Rd. 80 to Trail 81 for a sewer project, Western/Broad Ave. from Main Cross St. to Howard St. for sewer installation with a detour posted, and Hurd Ave. from Sandusky St. to Putnam St. for sewer replacement—drivers should follow detour signs. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The University of Findlay will host a health and wellness fair at Koehler Fitness Complex from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 — 35 vendors will offer health screenings, exercise demos, and free flu shots for the first 200 students. University of Findlay
