  • The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation will host a panel discussion and Q&A session on local housing needs on October 22 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at 50 North, 339 Melrose Ave. in Findlay—moderated by Foundation President Brian Treece and featuring local housing group representatives—to address the rising crisis of affordable housing.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, CSX begins closing 2nd Street from Bank Street to Blanchard Street for railroad repairs — no traffic will pass and delays are expected until the project ends on October 18.  WFIN
  • Mayor Christina Muryn has issued a proclamation declaring October as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Findlay—she urges citizens and employers to review hiring practices and embrace workers with disabilities. Blanchard Valley Center noted that 22% of supported working-age individuals work in the community—reinforcing the call for more inclusive job opportunities.  WFIN
