- ➤ The University of Findlay held its 20th Annual Helping Hands Food Drive kickoff event, Band Against Hunger, at Findlay High School on October 28. Over 400 people and 312 student musicians performed to raise 880.6 pounds of food & $195 for CHOPIN Hall while a school competition showed Findlay High School leading in food per student. - ➤ Salvation Army Findlay Corps is seeking local volunteers to serve as bell ringers for its Red Kettle Campaign — set to run from November 7 until Christmas Eve. Majors Michael and Diana Morales explained the effort aims to match last year's record of more than $100,000 in donations. WFIN
- ➤ Santa and his elves will visit the Findlay Airport on December 20th from 9:00 a.m. to noon—visitors are encouraged to bring their wish lists and take pictures with Santa. WFIN
- ➤ The Black Swamp Area Council of Scouting America invites all Scouting alumni and friends to reconnect today at the Arrowwood Alumni Event at the State Bank Main Street Location (408 S. Main Street, Findlay) from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Appetizers and drinks will be served while a local Scouting update is shared at 5:45 p.m. WFIN
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Joan Osborne and Lisa Loeb, two iconic 90s voices, will perform on the MCPA Amped stage to celebrate the 30th anniversaries of their breakthrough albums — Tails and Relish. Fans will enjoy popular hits and new songs in a relaxed and lively setting. WFIN
- ➤ On November 7 from 5:30 p.m. — 8:00 p.m., the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library will host its tenth annual Author Fest where local authors will sell and sign books as part of the ArtWalk, and library services will not be available during the event. WFIN

- ➤ The City of Findlay has been working on road projects that closed parts of Kennison, Penrose, Kirk and Spring Lake Drives plus Sherry Street for trench repair and paving since October 27—flaggers are managing traffic on SR 568 for a trail project while the Engineering Department will update schedules when available.
