  • Two University of Findlay staff members were nominated for the Toledo area 20 Under 40 Award—Maggie Morehart and Shayna Pothast—to be recognized as young leaders in the community. The nominees will be celebrated on November 3 with a 5:45 p.m. networking session—followed by the awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m.  University of Findlay

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ohio high school teachers and arts leaders can register now for the 2025–2026 Poetry Out Loud season hosted by the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts — a contest that gives students a stage to shine. The event is supported by the Ohio Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Ohio Department of Agriculture confirmed an investigation into the Hancock County Fair on October 30th but did not release details because the inquiry remains active. Officials said more information will be provided as the investigation continues.  WFIN

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Ohio High School Athletic Association is teaming up with Influential Athlete (a company that teaches schools and players about rules for earning money from their name, image and likeness). Schools will vote on the new NIL language in the next 45 days and will join webinars to get guidance.  WFIN
