COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The City of Findlay has placed its Christmas tree at Dorney Plaza in front of the Municipal Building, and it will be decorated over the coming days — leading to a tree lighting ceremony on November 28 at 6 p.m. The tree already has a star topper made by Millstream Career Center students in 2021.  WFIN
  • Family Resource Center will launch Twinkle Nights, Hancock County’s first drive-thru holiday light show, at the Hancock County Fairgrounds on November 22. A special walk-thru preview is held on November 21 — this free event encourages donations and supports mental health and addiction recovery services.  WFIN
  • The Children’s Museum of Findlay recently announced its new location at 11600 County Road 99—east of the RaceTrac gas station—after leaving the now-demolished Findlay Mall.  WFIN

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague introduced the Buckeye Business Advantage program to help small businesses in Ohio get loans with lower interest rates. The program allows qualifying businesses with 150 or fewer employees to lower rates by up to 3% on a two-year loan of up to one million dollars using the state's balance sheet.  Hometown Stations

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher Lisa M. Burns was named 2025 Dispatcher of the Year at the Findlay Dispatch Center after her technical skills and teamwork were endorsed by fellow dispatchers, troopers, and supervisors (from the Findlay and Lima posts). She joined the Patrol in 2021 and is now in contention for the District and State Dispatcher of the Year Award (she lives in Hancock County).  WFIN
  • State officials and members of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce visited Apollo Career Center in Allen County on Monday as part of a manufacturing bus tour that showed how local industry and education work together to train workers. The tour—highlighting job opportunities in skilled trades—demonstrated the state's strong manufacturing role in the economy.  Hometown Stations
