- ➤ The Community Foundation launched the Fun For All Fund in response to local feedback that there were few affordable family activities. Donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000 through December 20 as the foundation supports free arts, theater, sports, and recreation events. WFIN
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On December 5, the University of Findlay will host a public talk about how pets serve as therapy—Dr. Jim Carlson, DVM, will lead the presentation and his son, George Carlson, will share the story of his Persian cat Pudge, a national media favorite. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for a breakfast buffet before the talk begins at 7:50 a.m., and registration, costing $12 for adults and $6 for students, is due by December 3. University of Findlay

- ➤ The Findlay Fire Department shared Thanksgiving safety tips that warn residents to stay in the kitchen while cooking — Fire Inspector Eric Wilkins said most house fires start during cooking, so residents should keep flammable items away and use turkey fryers safely. WFIN

- ➤ On Monday, the OHSAA voted in favor of allowing high school student athletes to sign NIL deals to use their name, image, and likeness—447 voters approved the measure while 121 schools opposed and 247 abstained. The new bylaw takes effect immediately and makes Ohio the fourth state to allow such deals. WBVI
