COMMUNITY NEWS

  • At Primrose Retirement Community, 95-year-old Joyce Wilson has crocheted over 100 winter hats (and scarves) for those at Hope House, continuing her long tradition of handmade care for the homeless. Her work shows how local residents use their skills to give back.  WFIN
  • United Way of Hancock County is seeking volunteer tax preparers and greeters for its free VITA program (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) at the Public Library and 50 North, which is expected to return over $1 million to local residents. Appointments for the 2026 tax season will open Feb. 2 and shifts are flexible.  WFIN
  • Area families can enjoy a magical ride on the North Pole Express at the Mazza Museum Funday Sunday program on Sunday, Dec. 14. The free event will offer holiday art, games, and hands-on STEAM activities with special guest Santa (registration is required online).  WFIN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Liberty-Benton Local Schools will hold campus tours on December 29 at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.—visitors can see the new school, field house, and renovated high school and join the boys’ basketball cheer at 6:00 p.m.  WFIN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the City of Findlay tells residents to clear sidewalks of snow and ice within 12 hours after snowfall or two hours after notification per ordinance (906.02); failure to do so may result in minor misdemeanor charges.  WFIN
